TEAR-DROP ANATOMICAL IMPLANTS
Tear-drop implants are also known as Anatomical implants. They are designed to follow a contour closer to the natural breast with less volume at the top and more at the base. Tear-drop implants result in a more natural look and are recommended for patients wanting a natural sloping appearance mimicking the tear drop shape or a natural breast, more fullness in the lower pole or for those with lower-placed nipples.
ROUND IMPLANTS
Round implants are symmetrical and don’t result in any visual change if they rotate. They only have a round outline from the front view, however. They routinely have a flat back which sits against the chest wall, and can have various degrees of forward projection. Round implants add volume both in the lower and upper part of the breast. Keep in mind that gravity does affect the implant, and over time they may take on a somewhat teardrop or anatomical appearance.
-
Implants come in different profiles. The profile relates to the implant’s relative projection for a given diameter or base width; that is, how much the breast implant projects forward from the chest wall. Implants of the same volume (measured in cc, or cubic centimeteres) with different base widths will usually result in different levels of projection. Implants with a small base width will project out further compared with implants of the same volume but with a wider base width.
Generally, lower-profile implants aim to give a more natural look. Our doctors will discuss with you the type of ‘look’ that you would like to achieve and they will a take chest measurements to help you decide on the width and height of the implant needed.

Selecting the appropriate implant size for your breast augmentation can be a significant decision, and we understand that it may feel overwhelming. Dr Chinsee’s goal is to guide you through this process and help you achieve your desired outcome. There are various factors to consider, including your measurements, desired appearance, and lifestyle considerations.
It is essential to recognise that the same implant size can yield different results on different patients. Everyone has a unique combination of natural breast tissue and soft tissue, which influences the outcome. Breast augmentation is designed to complement your existing features, and the implant size should complement your natural proportions.
During the consultation, Dr Ian Chinsee will consider your measurements, frame, current cup size, and desired outcome. Based on this assessment, Dr Ian Chinsee will recommend a selection of implant sizes that align with your figure and anatomy. However, the ultimate decision on implant size will be yours, allowing you to feel confident and satisfied with the chosen option.
In addition to your aesthetic goals, it is crucial to consider your lifestyle and daily activities. If you are an active individual, participating in sports or running, for example, the recommended implant size should align with your physical activities and potential impact on your body.

Smooth Breast Implants are a style of implant that has a smooth outer surface, meaning they may move freely within the capsule that forms around the implant. Smooth implants are generally softer than texture implants, allowing for a more natural look and feel.
Textured breast implants have a rougher, irregular surface. This texture is designed to help them them adhere to the surrounding body tissue and minimise displacement.
TREATMENTS
Breast Basics
There are several treatments that can be performed pre and post-surgery to help expedite the healing process and minimise the appearance of surgical scarring. Our most recommended treatments are Morpheus8 & Exion microneedling RF, Dermapen microneedling, Lumecca IPL and Healite II LED Light Therapy.
Dr Chinsee and his team have developed their own scar revision protocols utilising various modalities to achieve optimal results.

The internal bra is a surgical technique that is commonly used in breast surgeries to provide structural support to breast implants or tissue during breast augmentation or reconstruction surgeries. An internal bra can also help to strengthen the lower pole as well as reinforce and define the inframammary fold, which provides a more supportive foundation for a breast implant and helps reduce the risk of bottoming out.
The “Internal bra” is actually an umbrella term which includes various options & techniques – the method Dr Chinsee uses is the barbed suture technique.
Barbed Sutures: The barbed suture method uses threads with tiny projections that grip and hold breast tissue in place. This method is designed to create a more secure and stable breast fold where the incision is located.
-
SUBGLANDULAR
Implants are inserted under the breast tissue and in front of the pectoral muscles.
PARTIAL SUBMUSCULAR
Implants are inserted under the breast tissue and partially under the pectoral muscles.
SUBMUSCULAR
Implants are inserted completely under the pectoral muscle.
-
INFRAMAMMARY FOLD
This is generally one of the most common incision placements. It is usually around five centimetres long and placed close to the inframammary fold (crease of skin beneath the breast). This results in adequate access to correctly position the implant while placing the scar in an area that is not obvious.
PERIAREOLAR
The incision is made in the lower half of the areola, just inside the pigmented skin.
TRANSAXILLARY
The incision is placed in a skin fold in the armpit.

CONSULTATIONS
Initial Consultation
By booking and/or receiving a treatment from Dr. Chinsee, you acknowledge and accept our pricing structure and policies. If you do not understand or agree with these terms, please do not book or proceed with any treatment or procedure. We reserve the right to revise our pricing and policies at any time.
Surgical Consultation
To seek cosmetic surgery, patients must provide a GP referral, preferably from their usual general practitioner. If this is not possible, a referral from another independent general practitioner or specialist medical practitioner is required. The referring practitioner must not be the same as the doctor and must not perform cosmetic procedures.
Patients must have at least two pre-operative consultations before scheduling surgery. Dr. Chinsee will evaluate the patient for psychological conditions, such as body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), which may impact suitability for surgery.
The cost of the initial surgical consultation is $175, payable at the time of booking to secure your appointment. This fee is non-refundable and rescheduling requires 48 hours' notice. The $175 covers the initial and second consultations. Additional consultations within the first 12 months are charged at $100 each. After 12 months, a new GP referral and consultation at $175 will be required. This consultation fee is not deducted from the surgery cost if you choose to proceed.

Each patient requires an individualised surgical assessment. During your initial consultation, Dr. Chinsee will discuss risks and possible complications, recovery, possible revision, surgical and non-surgical treatment options and tailor a surgical plan suited to your needs and aesthetic goals. After your consultation, a formal quote will be provided to you. This quote will be valid for three months, unless otherwise stated.

RISKS & COMPLICATIONS POLICY
Possible risks associated with breast surgery include bleeding or infection, accumulation of fluid around the implant after surgery, allergic reaction to medical materials, changes in breast and nipple sensation, temporary or permanent areas of numbness, nipple necrosis, skin wrinkling over the implant, keloid or hypertrophic scar formation, capsular contracture, inappropriate implant size, implant rupture or deflation, asymmetry of the breasts, calcium deposits in the scar capsule around the implant, granulomas, breastfeeding difficulties, reduced effectiveness of breast cancer screening, movement of the implants, further surgery to treat complications, anaesthesia risks, including allergic reactions or potentially fatal cardiovascular complications, and blood clots in the deep veins of the legs, which can be life-threatening if they move to the lungs or brain. It is important to discuss these risks with a qualified doctor before undergoing breast surgery.
RECOVERY
Recovery time after cosmetic surgery can vary depending on multiple factors, such as the size and type of implant, surgical technique, and placement. As each woman is unique, recovery duration may differ. Typically, it takes 1-12 months for a full recovery, during which time it is crucial to avoid strenuous physical activity, lifting heavy objects, and excessive exertion to ensure proper healing.
AFTER SURGERY
No showering for five days. After five days, avoid saturating the dressings, dry with a hairdryer on a low heat setting. If dressings get overly wet, you will require a dressing change earlier.
Do not massage your breasts.
Do not put anything on your breasts: ice, heat, oils etc.
You may experience nausea and vomiting following the general anaesthetic. You will be prescribed anti-nausea medication that will help manage this.
It is important to maintain a good oral intake of food and fluids as the analgesia (pain medication) can cause bloating and constipation.
Maximise resting in the first week of healing; you should not be performing any excessive exercise or activity which elevates your heart rate or causes you to break a sweat for the first three weeks of healing.
Do not drink alcohol for 1 week or until your antibiotic course is complete.
Do not drive for one week.
You may resume all supplements ceased after two weeks.
No smoking for at least six weeks; significant wound healing compromise can occur if you continue smoking.
It is normal to hear strange gurgling, sloshing sounds in the breast pocket.
Numbness and altered sensation is normal.
Bruising may occur as the surgery involves manipulation of the muscles and skin of your chest. We recommend taking arnica tablets post surgery if you are prone to bruising.
Breasts should be treated as separate surgeries: one may heal faster than the other, they may appear uneven in early recovery, trust the process. It will take up to three months before the swelling starts to subside. You should generally allow up to one year to see the final results of your surgery.

Textured Implants: Don’t lift arms above shoulder height for two weeks
Motiva / Smooth Implants: Don’t lift arms above shoulder height for four weeks

After three months: padding may be worn
You must wear your post operative bra at night to sleep in for a minimum of 12 months.
If you have Motiva implants you are required to wear your postop bra for three months
We recommend wearing your bra as much as you can. Your implants will keep their shape and last longer if you wear a bra the majority of the time.

Six Months: Crossfit style exercise, MMA fighting, pole dancing.
Sexual intercourse: may be resumed after two weeks, however if you are resuming prior to six weeks your post op bra must remain on, refrain from any strenuous movements that could disrupt healing (ie. bouncing, grabbing and handling of the breasts). No mouth to nipple contact for three months to prevent infection.
ARM MOVEMENTS

REVISION POLICY
Complications, and unforeseen problems may occasionally arise, and in these instances further costs will incur.
Initial fees are paid for surgery only and results are never guaranteed. Future procedures are not covered by the original quote or fees previously paid (unless otherwise stated)
Costs associated with a future procedure may include, but are not limited to: airfares, accommodation, carer, time off work, loss of income, medication, pathology, diagnostic investigations and surgical garments.
There is a about a five to ten per cent chance that a revision procedure will be required after a cosmetic procedure, such as a “touch up” or correcting a complication.
The revision rate for a full mastopexy is generally between seventeen and twenty-five per cent. When subsequent revision procedures are necessary, the results provided will usually be less than the result of a primary surgery.
It is imperative that patients are fully aware of and have a clear understanding of the risks and complications of a medical procedure before consenting to them.
If a revision procedure is required within your twelve-month postoperative period, our doctors will often waive their surgical fees. However, you will need to pay for the third-party fees associated with hospital and anaesthetic.
This is charged at $3,200* per hour (which includes hospital, general anaesthetic and consumables).
Patients outside of their twelve-month postoperative period will need to pay full fees. Please note: Additional expenses or expenditure may apply for implant fees, breast mesh etc.
Policy will only apply for correction of a complication that has occurred as a result of the primary surgery. Policy is not applicable for change of mind, implant removal, size increase or decrease etc.
Fees are subject to change without notice.
