Renuvion Skin Tightening

Now in Brisbane! Formally known as J Plasma, Renuvion Skin Tightening is a minimally invasive medical device that combines helium plasma and radio-frequency (RF) energy to heat the tissues directly beneath the skin and stimulate tissue contraction from the inside-out - creating a smooth, lifted, and sculpted appearance.

Renuvion has been clinically proven to be effective on mild to moderate loose skin and can treat multiple areas of the body including:

  • Minimally invasive face or neck lift
  • Minimally invasive tummy tuck
  • Post-pregnancy or extensive weight loss
  • Jawline, backs of knees, or underarms (bingo wings)
  • Combined with Vaser Liposuction to prevent loose skin

Renuvion offers an alternative to more invasive cosmetic surgical procedures and is ideal for patients who don’t want or are not candidates for typical excision surgery. Depending on the area and condition being treated, Renuvion can be performed under a local anaesthetic = faster recovery, less downtime, and less expense for the patient.

What Makes Renuvion Skin Tightening Different?

  • As the treatment is performed, the effects of tightening and toning are visible which allows for precision sculpting
  • Renuvion is the only medical device which uses helium and RF waves to create a stream of plasma energy - revolutionary technology
  • Pain and discomfort is minimal due to the cooling effects that the helium gas produces during the treatment. Postoperatively, any discomfort is relieved with over-the-counter pain medication
  • Renuvion usually delivers with just one treatment - not multiple. These results continue to improve over time and the final results are visible after 12 months

How Does Renuvion Skin Tightening Work?

Helium gas and radio frequency energy are emitted simultaneously through a long, thin metal cannula just below the skin’s surface. This causes the helium to ionise and generate plasma - a hot, ionised gas that is composed of electrically charged particles.

As the surge of plasma energy delivered is targeted and precise there is minimal damage to the surrounding tissue. If Renuvion is being used as an adjective treatment, the cannula can be inserted through exisiting incisions. However, if performed as a stand alone treatment, the incisions are small (less than 2cm) and can be strategically placed to avoid scarring.

The cannula is moved back and forth across the treatment area, and the combination of heat with ionic and reactive particles from the plasma cloud induce a change in the skins' dermis and underlying architecture. This results in the rejuvenation and contraction of exisiting skin while stimulating new collagen production. Results are visible immediately and continue to improve for up to 12 months.

Recovery from Renuvion Skin Tightening

Recovery varies from patient to patient. Most patients describe the pain as mild discomfort which is usually controlled with over-the-counter pain medication.

Most patients can return to work or their normal daily activities after 3 days. There is no extra recovery time when Renuvion is combined with Vaser Liposuction in the same procedure.

You may experience swelling and tenderness your procedure, and may be required to wear a compression garment for up to 6 weeks. Major swelling usually subsides by 3 months, and the final result will be noticeable after 6-12 months.
