The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic in clinic, and takes about 30 – 60 minutes. Multiple threads (or however many are required based on treatment area) are introduced with a needle or a blunt ended cannula which is removed once the threads have been positioned.
Most people are able to return to normal activities immediately. There may be some redness, pin prick marks, and some degree of swelling, possibly some puckering along the site of the suture, possibly, indentations at the insertion or exit points.
The immediate side effects are expected to settle within 2 weeks.
For up to a week after the procedure it may feel tender around the sutures which is relieved with Paracetamol.
Price is dependent on the number of threads used. Please contact the clinic to schedule a consultation with Dr. Chinsee.
There is minimal bruising, and no scarring.
